Frequently asked questions
Are the works for sale?
No. The Liverani Collection is a private, non-commercial collection: nothing is for sale and this site is not a sales catalogue. Purchase enquiries are not followed up.
Can the collection be visited?
No. The works are held privately and cannot be viewed in person. The digital archive exists precisely so that they can be consulted without accessing where they are kept.
Why does the archive contain so few works?
Because it is being built. Works are photographed, researched and catalogued one at a time, and published only once the entry is reliable. The number grows over time.
May I use the images for a publication or a thesis?
For study, research and reporting you may cite the entries, crediting the source. Reproducing the photographs in a publication requires written permission: write to us explaining the context and we are usually glad to help.
Do you lend works for exhibitions?
Serious exhibition proposals are considered case by case. Write to us with the institution, venue, dates and curatorial project.
I have information about a work, or I spotted an error. Who do I tell?
Write to us. Provenance, exhibition history and bibliography are the hardest parts to reconstruct, and documented corrections are genuinely useful.
Do you carry out valuations or authentications?
No. We do not issue appraisals, estimates or certificates of authenticity, and we do not give opinions on works belonging to others.
